Nothing can travel at superluminal velocities – faster than the speed of light. Einstein showed that to be the case with his Special Theory of Relativity. That's a fact of nature now drummed into every physics student, be it high school or university. But, there is a special condition attached which isn't often made clear. Eliminate that special condition, and, as a thought experiment at least, you can do your superluminal thing!
